Configure Mozilla Thunderbird (IMAP)

Starting Mozilla Thunderbird

1) Open Mozilla Thunderbird. Click on 'Tools' and select 'Account Setup'. Click 'Add' to start the account insertion procedure.

2) Enter the name you want your messages to be delivered with in the first field. Enter the email address you want to configure on the client post in the field below.

3) Select IMAP to configure an account with IMAP access. Enter pop.nomedominio.ext for incoming mail server and the one provided by your Internet provider for outgoing mail server.

4) Enter your email address for incoming mail user and click Continue.
On te next page, enter an account identification and click continue. Click END to complete the configuration.
You will be asked to enter your password the first time you request to receive your mail.

5) To set up the initial Imap folder, click on Advanced in the Server Set up section.

6) Enter the term INBOX in the Imap server folder (the final full stop is compulsory).
To move the sent items into the 'Sent Items' folder you must first change the sent item movement from the 'Folders and Copies' folder.
