Transfer a .it domain from Aruba

In order to transfer a .it domain you have to:

• check the domain status (the status must be ok)


• have the Authorization Code (Auth-Code)


• follow the online procedure

If you don’t know the Auth-Code you can recover it following these steps:

1. Login to the Customer Area Aruba with your credentials.


2. Click on the ‘Control panel’ corresponding to the domain you want to transfer.


3. Click on 'Tool to retrieve the Authorization Code’ of the domain which can be found in the Domain management section.


4. Enter the confirmation for the Authorization Code request in the window. Click on CONTINUE


5. The Auth-Code will automatically be sent to the owner domain email address and should be communicated to Register.it at the time of the transfer.

Before you start the transfer procedure you need to check that the name of the owner and the email address of the Administrative Contact Email (admin-c) remain unchanged according to the data in the WHOIS database.
If the data are not correct you must request their modification to Aruba before starting the transfer process. You should also verify that the owner email address is active; this address will be used to forward the authorization of transfer request.

In order to transfer the domain to Register.it you need to unlock it on Aruba and have the Authentication Code (Auth-Code).

Follow these steps:

1. Login to the Customer Area Aruba with your credentials.


2. Click on the ‘Control Panel’ item related to the domain you want to transfer.


3. Click on the ‘Tool’ item to lock or unlock the domain transfer and ask for the Authentication Code which can be find in the domain Management section.


4. A new window in which the domain status is LOCKED will open. Click on ‘Unlock and send authorization’, then on ‘Close’.


5. The Auth-Code will be sent to the owner email address selected during the registration. You have to communicate the Auth-Code to Register.it at the time of the domain transfer.


6. Then, in the same window you can check if the domain status is unlocked (UNLOCKED). By clicking on 'Send authorization code only’ you can claim back forwarding without having to change the domain status.
